Reese Witherspoon began seriously pursuing her acting career shortly after attending Stanford University. At the beginning of her career, she had part in movies such as Pleasantville or Election. It came in Elle Woods' portrayal in Legally Blonde which marked a major turning point. Witherspoon won one Academy Award for her performance in Walk the Line in 2005. Water for Elephants: This Means War & Wild, and for both, she received an Oscar nomination. Her success has also been extended to television. She was a co-star of David. Following a break from college of an entire year, she studied English Literature at Stanford University briefly before returning to work. She started her professional career at the beginning of 2000, performing in various small-sized television shows. In 2003's film The Invisible Man she had her first feature-length role. After that she was able to make appearances on a range of television shows including House of Lies Whitney and Better Call Saul. Her film credits include The Dictator, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and The Dictator. As well as her profession as an actor, she is also an accomplished artist, who has exhibited her artwork in a variety of galleries.
