Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Her name was chosen by her parents after the town in which she grew up. Michel Horowitz is her father, while Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder believes she is Jewish has a connection to Ryder's Jewish father. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's family relocated from Mendocino County to California when she was 7 years old. The family lived in a place without electric power. Television books was her only source of entertainment for her time, and she was a voracious reader. When she turned 12 Ryder was accepted into the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. Ryder landed her first film role on the large screen in 1986 at the age of 15 older. Ryder experienced bullying at high school. Her professional acting, she believed, would help her. However, it didn't come to pass. However, she was determined to pursue her goals. Her breakthrough came through Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder was able to continue playing characters that made a splash in a variety of films. In 1993 she received two nominations in the Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part In The Age of Innocence.
