Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer well-known for his distinctive blend of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe. She has also performed at performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's given the name of Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta but she is out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing and playing piano in the church. She attended Spellman College and began to learn the R&B style that is popular in Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was called Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released exclusively in Japan and has since been remixed by numerous producers and is a staple in her live show. The singer has also provided her vocals on The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005 she was hired as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to serve as the choir leader of the stage production. Sunshine received national attention during her four daily performances in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing during President Obama's 2008 inauguration.
